How can you develop the most efficient golf swing? That’s probably a question that almost all of us want to know.
We all have certain physical capabilities. Golf requires flexibility in all parts of the body. Tight muscles restrict and slow down the motion needed to effectively swing the golf club and as we age. Muscles aren’t as naturally flexible as they were in earlier years. That means golfers must work harder just to maintain the same level of flexibility they had in their younger days.
If your pro tells you to make a big shoulder turn and you can’t… what does he tell you next? I can tell you it’s to make some kind of “compensation” in your swing to make that shoulder turn.
Making a proper shoulder turn is impossible if your shoulder muscles, chest muscles, upper back muscles are too tight. The backswing is a turn of the upper body (thoracic) around the lower body (lumbar region). Increased thoracic mobility makes the proper turn possible.
Flexibility is the single most important physical characteristic likely to influence your golf swing. A tight body creates restricted motion in the swing and later produces injuries. Flexibility, mobility, core strength and power are all improved by specific exercises for golf. When you purchase your golf fitness program you will notice more flexibility, improved core strength and more energy from the very first week.
Hello my name is Chris Ownbey.
I help golfers increase their flexibility, increase their core strength, play pain-free golf, and shoot lower scores by employing a unique system that’s very different from traditional golf fitness programs.
In short, my job is to make you better. And I take my job very seriously.
That’s pretty much the simplest, no-spin, hype-free headline I can imagine. But that’s it in a nutshell.
It’s exactly what I do.
How will a golf-specific fitness routine help you?
As the body ages, it loses flexibility. Loss of flexibility is the single most important physical characteristic likely to influence one’s golf swing. A tight body restricts the motion of the swing and can even lead to injuries. Flexibility, mobility, core strength and
power can all be improved by exercises tailored specifically for each golfer.
What can I expect when I first meet with Chris?
The first step is a complete screening and assessment of the golfer and his or her swing.
The golf swing involves both the storing and releasing of energy. When energy is released haphazardly anywhere in the golf swing,
you lose power and distance. The most efficient swing is not the same for every golfer, because efficiency is unique to each golfer’s body characteristics. To help you achieve your most efficient swing, Chris must first screen you. This screen involves an assessment of swing mechanics, biomechanics, physical fitness, movement quality, current health and a client history. The results of this screening and assessment are then used to develop a plan that is unique to you.

“Chris has helped me with my own fitness and weight training for about eight months now.
Not only have I increased my strength, size, and speed, but my flexibility has increased immensely.
Flexibility is such an important aspect of the golf swing and but I know first-hand that trying to instill that in my
students has always been a struggle. After sending many of my students to train with Chris, he has improved both
their health and fitness levels. Many of them now finally realize how beneficial flexibility can be to their golf swing.
Chris has not only been a help to me personally, he has been an incredible asset to me professionally.
I would recommend his programs to anyone.”
…Mark Maness. Worldwide Director of Training, Nicklaus Academies
“Chris has been a huge help to me. As a 50-something golfer who rarely touched weights,
I knew I needed to start an exercise program, but I had no idea how to get started, and I certainly didn’t want my exercise to
be counterproductive to my golf game. Chris was able to break down the physical elements of my golf swing and apply the appropriate exercises in a way that I didn’t understand previously. I‘ve seen improvement in my physical strength and my energy,
and I’m able to last longer on the course. I highly recommend this Golf Fitness Program. It certainly is working for me.”
…Tony Howard, Vice President and Controller at Real Page
