YOU MIGHT BE IN SHAPE. BUT ARE YOU IN GOLF SHAPE?
One of the biggest things I’ve learned after years in the golf fitness industry is this: There is a direct connection between your golf swing and your body’s ability to move efficiently.
Many golfers spend years working on swing mechanics, but the body itself often becomes the limiting factor:
Tight hips
Restricted thoracic rotation
Poor balance
Limited flexibility
Weakness through the core and lower body
Improper Movement Patterns in the golf swing
These physical limitations make it difficult to consistently get into the positions required for an efficient and repeatable golf swing. Unfortunately, most golfers today simply do not have the mobility and movement quality needed for optimal swing mechanics.
Note: Long hours sitting at work, past injuries, stress, stiffness, and everyday aches and pains slowly tighten the body over time. In just a few hours of inactivity, mobility can decrease dramatically, affecting rotation, sequencing, timing, balance, and overall swing consistency.
The TPI Golf Fitness Assessment
That’s why we begin with a TPI Golf Fitness Assessment. This assessment helps identify the physical limitations that could be having a direct effect on your golf swing. During the assessment, we evaluate areas such as:
Hip mobility
Thoracic spine rotation
Core stability
Balance and posture
Movement efficiency
Flexibility and joint function
The assessment becomes the blueprint for your golf fitness program. It helps us clearly understand what your body can and cannot do, and shows us the improper movement patterns you have in the golf swing which can be corrected through specific drills and exercises.
Introducing SYSTEM 4-15G
Once we identify your physical limitations, we begin implementing SYSTEM 4-15G into your training program. This golf-specific system combines:
Targeted mobility work
Corrective exercises
Strength training
Movement drills
Golf-focused stretching routines
- And our Patented Motion Training
Healthy Body = Better Game!

COMMON QUESTIONS
As the body ages, it loses flexibility. Loss of flexibility is the single most important physical characteristic likely to influence one’s golf swing. A tight body restricts the motion of the swing and can even lead to injuries. Flexibility, mobility, core strength and power can all be improved by exercises tailored specifically for each golfer through golf fitness training and golf performance training guided by a golf fitness coach or golf fitness trainer.
Golf specific fitness training vs general strength training is different because sport specific training is unique to the individual sport. You would not train for golf the same as you prepared for football in high school, which is why many golfers work with a TPI certified golf fitness instructor or golf personal trainer to improve performance through targeted golf fitness training.
An initial physical evaluation is performed. This evaluation is the same assessment used for the PGA professionals on tour and follows principles used in TPI golf fitness and the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) system. The assessment will identify your physical deficits, however small. Your range of motion, strength, balance, and flexibility are tested extensively during a TPI golf fitness screening or golf fitness assessment. Once this evaluation is completed, you will have an understanding of which physical limitations are directly affecting your performance, then we develop a program to correct these limitations with structured golf fitness coaching.
