Train Your Body for the Demands of the Golf Swing
Before you step onto the course, prepare your body to perform.
Today’s golfers are smarter about performance—and they know the golf swing places serious demands on the body. Mobility, stability, strength, and power are all tested throughout the round. If your body isn’t able to get into the positions your golf pro is asking, you are going to get frustrated.
Hello,
My name is Chris Ownbey with over 35 years in the golf and fitness industry. At Chris Ownbey Golf Fitness, we do not believe there’s one “right” way to work out. But there is a smarter, more effective way to workout for your age and sport.
Introducing SYSTEM 4-15G
A proven, golf-specific training system built around how the body moves in the golf swing.
SYSTEM 4-15G is structured as four 15-minute training blocks, each targeting a critical component of golf performance:
- Joint function & mobility
- Flexibility and rotational range
- Balance, stability, and Core strength
- Dynamic power and movement efficiency
This isn’t about building big bulky muscles. It’s about strengthening the muscles we use in the swing and recreate the right movement patterns needed to make a repeatable, consistent golf swing.
What You Can Expect:
You can expect:
- Increased strength
- Improved flexibility and mobility
- More energy, better endurance throughout the round
- Improved balance and increased swing speed
- Lose a little around the middle
- A leaner, more athletic feel—especially through the core
Your Next Step:
Schedule your TPI Golf Fitness Assessment. This assessment will consist of 15 measurements. The blueprint shows your specific needs, and it sets up the game plan that, when performed on a routine basis, in a short period of time (such as 8 weeks.) large improvements can be seen in movement efficiency and swing consistency. Let’s put in place a program to make you the best golfer you can be.
Healthy Body = Better Game!

COMMON QUESTIONS
As the body ages, it loses flexibility. Loss of flexibility is the single most important physical characteristic likely to influence one’s golf swing. A tight body restricts the motion of the swing and can even lead to injuries. Flexibility, mobility, core strength and power can all be improved by exercises tailored specifically for each golfer.
Sport specific training is unique to the individual sport. You would not train for golf the same as you prepared for football in high schoolT
An initial physical evaluation is performed. This evaluation is the same assessment used for the PGA professionals on tour. The assessment will identify your physical deficits, however small. Your range of motion, strength, balance, and flexibility are tested extensively. Once this evaluation is completed, You will have an understanding of which physical limitations are directly affecting your performance, then we develop a program to correct these limitations.
