What if we could continue to improve through the winter and never lose it but actually improve it through the winter?

One of the most overlooked parts of golf and improving one’s golf game is the benefits of physical fitness. Since Tiger Woods broke onto the scene with his 1997 Masters victory, it has been a trend in the game of golf to be more of an athlete. The winter is a great time to set a goal to get into the gym and better yourself.

Here is a 20 – minute golf workout you can take to your gym today and give it a try.

Need more personal attention? Looking to change it up a bit and try something new? Give us a call and we will put together a specific golf plan for your needs, your limitations, and your goals, and if you are looking for personal one to one attention, we offer both 30  and 60-minute golf-specific workouts.

Remember you do not have to lose it over the winter. You can improve your body today for a better game tomorrow.

How will a golf-specific fitness routine help you?

✐ As the body ages, it loses flexibility. Loss of flexibility is the single most important physical characteristic likely to influence one’s golf swing. A tight body restricts the motion of the swing and can even lead to injuries. Flexibility, mobility, core strength and power can all be improved by exercises tailored specifically for each golfer.

How does fitness training for golf differ from going to the gym and exercising on the machines?

✐ Sport specific training is unique to the individual sport. You would not train for golf the same as you prepared for football in high school.

What can you expect when we first meet?

✐ An initial physical evaluation is performed. This evaluation is the same assessment used for the PGA professionals on tour. The assessment will identify your physical deficits, however small. Your range of motion, strength, balance, and flexibility are tested extensively. Once this evaluation is completed, You will have an understanding of which physical limitations are directly affecting your performance, then we develop a program to correct these limitations.
